SEPTEMBER SHOW 'N SHARE

One of our members won the top sewing award in the state at the 2015 Wisconsin State Fair with this beautifully made, smocked blouse.

The smocked detail is easier to see here.  So well done!

She also made this sweet smocked doll dress.

Such a nice fit.  It will definitely get lots of use!

The judges were so impressed with how everything was lined up.  Such a great job!

And one of our members has been working on quilting projects.  Love this!

Finally, one member brought her "Mystery of the Five Diamonds" sampler from the SAGA Smock Along.  The variegated thread makes it so eye catching!  I'm sure she will be sewing it into something fabulous!

July Program

In our program, we learned about "circle smocking".  Here is an example of the technique which was shared by our "teacher for the night".  Below is another view of this beautiful covered box.

This is our American Beauty raffle basket that was sent to Chicago for the Smock Across America event.

We also submitted the Gingham and Stripes Forever raffle basket.

"Check in" later this week to see an impressive collection of Temari balls made by one of our talented members.  Hopefully she will do a program in 2016 for our group!    

JUNE SHOW 'N SHARE

One of our members made this cute smocked headband for a new baby girl in her family, since bonnets are no longer "in style" up here in the north.

This sweet heart smocked Wee Care gown was submitted for donation to St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee.

One member finished her sampler from March, when we learned a technique for adding beads to our smocking.  She then used it to created this lovely ornament.  So precious and delicate.

One member has been working on this organizer.  The embroidery is so summery!
