September Show 'n Share

Our members have been busy...just look and see what we have been up to:

This beautiful smocked dress won our Smocking Award at the Wisconsin State Fair.  She also won a blue ribbon!

...and look at this lovely wool coat that coordinates with her dress.  She also won a ribbon for this creation at the State Fair.  It has just the right touch of embroidery!

Here's the back view...just as lovely!

One of our members made this traditional English Smock for her Felicity doll.

Here's a close-up to show the bodice and collar smocking detail.

...and here you can see the smocked sleeve detail.  So well done!

The National Smocking Arts Guild offers correspondence courses.  One of our members learned a variety of smocking techniques by taking one of these courses.  She took her sampler, and inserted it into a tote bag.  This is such a special piece!

Here are some of the details....

...and more details...

...and more details...

...and just one more detail.

She also made this pretty festive ornament.

One of our members rescued this Fancy Nancy doll and book from a garage, and revived her.  She added a stylish outfit...Nancy is ready for a brand new home!

...Arms wide open.

A different member shared with the group a piece from earlier in her smocking journey...her first smocked bishop dress.

I think that she did an amazing job!

A member made this bridal ensemble for her doll.  It received a ribbon at the State Fair.

...the beautiful lace at the hemline stands out...

...and the tiara with veil tops the whole look off so perfectly!

One of our members worked long hours with two of her granddaughters to help them make their first sewn creation.  Both won awards at the Wisconsin State Fair.  What an opportunity to pass on the love of sewing!

Another member made this precious Wee Care gown.

Here's the lovely beaded smocking.  She took this to share at our SAGA National Convention in September.

A different member made these sweet "baby envelopes" for a local hospital's neonatal unit.

A member shared this one piece smocked Wee Care gown that she created.

You can see the care that she took to make it just right through beautiful smocking!

One member shared these swatches of fabric that she found in Ohio at Martha's Heirlooms.

This cool Pokemon dress was made by a member, and won a ribbon at the State Fair.

Here is the back view....Nice!

A happy little girl!

She also made this Harlequinn dress, which won a ribbon at the State Fair.
