SEPTEMBER 2017 SHOW 'N SHARE

We had our pre-pleated fabric challenge competition....

Our winner was:


This pretty two piece skirt-set for dolls!

And 2nd Place went to:


This one piece Italian smocked dress!

And 3rd place went to this wine bottle cover...


....such an original idea...

One of our members made this sweet Wee Care gown...

A member won a 2nd place ribbon at the Wisconsin State Fair for this elegant doll dress...

This autumn inspired table runner was made by a member using a simple method...


...it is two rectangles of different sizes sewn together with a closed end.


Another member finished her "Swirl Smocking" project and added it to a wooden handled mirror...


....here is the smocking and finishing details.  So pretty!

September Show 'n Share



One member smocked this Wee Care gown....


She used the Van Dyke stitch to make it so special!

One member finished her temari ball from our Christmas in July program...Love it!

MILWAUKEE AREA CHAPTER OF SAGA'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY

We enjoyed time with great friends dressed for the season!


...who were sharing food, fun, and......

Lots and lots of temari balls....


....in different colors...


...different designs...


....different sizes...


...different techniques...woven, wrapped....


....different base colors...


....it seemed to go on forever...


....and we all loved it!

....And of course, we got lessons and were able to try it ourselves!


What an amazing afternoon!!!

Our members have been busy making and smocking Wee Care gowns for a local hospital....These were made by one member....

We are learning how to do "Swirl" smocking using the "A Tisket, a Tasket, a Lightning Swirl Basket" from Barbara Meger....


....and as a teaser for our Christmas in July program, a member brought several of her Temari ball creations....










I love the look of these decorative balls....and they will make great Christmas gifts!
I am sure there will be more Temari ball creations to come soon!
